The Hollywood Hills home that was the setting of the film The Anniversary Party, as well as other movies and commercials, has just been listed for $8 million, according to press materials.

Schaarman House outside

“Schaarman House,” designed by Richard Neutra and sitting on nearly an acre, is owned by advertising icon and director Jeffrey B. Gorman.

Considered to be one of the most influential architects of the 20th Century, Neutra designed the four-bedroom, four-bathroom home, which includes a guesthouse, with simplistic geometric shapes to reflect a merging with nature.

glass walls

From glass walls, sweeping views of the city and San Gabriel Mountains can be seen from the front and back of the gated, 3,738-square-foot residence.

hardwood ceiling

Defining features are beamed hardwood ceiling and a stacked stone fireplace, the listing describes.

Outside, there is an entry garden reflecting pool, an expansive lawn, and a pool. A one-bedroom, one-bathroom guesthouse is tucked away on the opposite end of the property.

“It is an honor to represent such a significant architectural home in this prized location,” says listing agent Aaron Kirman of Aaroe Estates. “I look forward to finding the new owner who will truly cherish the beauty and history of this architectural masterpiece”.

The 2001 film The Anniversary Party stars Phoebe Cates, Alan Cumming, Kevin Kline, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
